The feet are the foundation of the body. Out of 204 bones in the body, 52 bones are found in the feet; therefore, it's essential to give them the care they need for your whole body to feel better.
Besides treating foot pain, we also make custom orthotics for shoes. Count on Theron N Stallings DC for fairly priced orthotic services. You'll find us in Fort Collins, CO.
You hear about foot pain and plantar fasciitis everywhere you turn. It has unfortunately become a common problem. Look inside almost any shoe and you can see why. The lack of arch support in today's footwear is appalling. Why do most shoes have removable inserts? It seems like they are planning on you using a foot orthotic.
Plantar fasciitis can have many causes, and I know firsthand the pain it can cause. I tore both of my plantar fascia doing calf raises at the gym. I tried a variety of treatments, but the one thing that helped was going to a Chiropractor. They treated me with transverse friction massage, and custom foot orthotics that finally gave me relief. The treatment allowed me to return to normal life: before treatment I was disabled by foot pain.
The majority of people I talk to misunderstands Fasciitis. Fasciitis is a “tear and heal” cycle that needs to be changed. The plantar fascia is a tough, fibrous band of connective tissue that spans the bottom of the foot, and it is partially responsible for keeping your arch intact. If you do not wear good arch support, your foot flattens out with each step, stretching and eventually tearing the plantar fascia. When you are resting or sleeping, the body tries to heal this; when you put your weight on it again, it tears and you experience pain with each early morning step.
We treat this by adjusting the bones and joints in the foot, working directly on the plantar fascia, and building you a custom orthotic
in the office that you will walk out with. It worked for me and it can work for you, too.
Look for other signs your feet are in trouble - uneven heal
wear on
your shoes, big toe pain and stiffness, big toe becoming crooked with bunion formation, callouses on the side of the foot that are painful, toes 2-5 pulling up into hammer toes. These are all signs that your feet need attention. Do not delay. Plantar Fasciitis will be easier to prevent than to treat the foot that is hurting.
